CHARACTER COUNTS!
<p style="text-align: center"><span style="font-size: 10pt"><span style="font-family: Verdana"><b>CHARACTER COUNTS!</b></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt"><span style="font-family: Verdana">Thanks to the Safe Schools, Healthy Students grant we are gearing up to implement the CHARACTER COUNTS! program in the schools next year. Rose-Linda Stafford, Coordinator of the South Ashland Family Resource Center and Krista Payne, Safe Schools, Healthy Student School Social Worker attended a 3-day Character Development Seminar in Chicago in April.&nbsp;They returned with some great ideas on how the Ashland Independent School District can implement the CHARACTER COUNTS! framework into our schools.&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt"><span style="font-family: Verdana">The goal of the program is to teach the Six Pillars of Character:&nbsp;&nbsp; <span style="color: blue">TRUSTWORTHINESS, </span><span style="color: green">RESPONSIBILITY, </span><span style="color: rgb(255,204,0)">RESPECT, </span><span style="color: rgb(255,102,0)">FAIRNESS, </span><span style="color: red">CARING, </span>and<span style="color: purple">CITIZENSHIP </span>to the students in the Ashland Schools.<span style="color: purple">&nbsp;</span>This program takes all of the great things we are already doing in the district and emphasizes how all of these programs are tied to creating trustworthy, responsible, respectful, fair and caring citizens.&nbsp;We work everyday to make the students in each classroom smart and now we will also be emphasizing the Six Pillars and focus on making them good citizens!&nbsp;Just remember CHARACTER COUNTS!</span></span></p>
