While growing up with animals, especially horses, I’ve discovered my passion for teaching and helping clients connect the dots to learn more effectively.  What started out as horse training, led me to become a teacher.  Whether in the barn or in the classroom, I’ve developed subtle skills and proven techniques to get to the root of why my clients don’t perform up to their potential.

I interned at a well-known horse ranch in California right out of high school and then went on to receive an Associates Degree in Equine Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Communications from Ohio University.

After years of teaching clients, from age 4 to 75, how to build better relationships with horses and growing my love of teaching, I decided to pursue a degree in education. I received my Master’s Degree in Special Education from Marshall University in 2012. I currently teach at Ashland Middle School during the school year. My husband and two boys live on a small farm with eleven horses, ten cows, two dogs, and three cats. We enjoy horseback riding, camping and anything outdoors!

My summers and evenings are spent honing my teaching skills as a Holistic Horsemanship Coach. Coaching is such a complement to teaching and offers a unique blend of academic and personal support, as I help them overcome the challenges that interfere with learning.

I’m thrilled to have discovered proven techniques to help students get clear with their goals so they can stay on track with their academic and personal success. I love empowering students and helping them regain a love for learning. My students benefit from gentle, yet powerful strategies to increase learning, boost confidence, and become the person they were meant to be. I’m looking forward to using these strategies as I begin my third school year here at Ashland Middle School.
