What is the Primary Talent Pool (PTP)?
The Primary Talent Pool is a group of students who perform at exceptionally high levels in the primary years (Kindergarten through Third Grade). These students are referred to as high-potential learners. The purpose of selecting students to participate in a Primary Talent Pool is to provide early enrichment, in an effort to fully develop individual student abilities. Participation in the Primary Talent Pool does not guarantee acceptance into the gifted program. Formal identification for the gifted program begins in fourth grade.
