Hi! My name is Courtney Gilbert, and I am the Library Media Specialist here at Oakview.  I was born in Ashland, Kentucky where I grew up and  attended Hager Elementary School, Verity Middle School, and Paul G. Blazer High School. I received my Bachelor’s and Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Morehead State University and my Rank 1 in Library Media Science from EKU. In May 2012, I married my high school sweetheart Tyler. I also have a step-son, Griffin, who is in seventh grade this year. When I’m not at school teaching I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, reading, and crafting.
            This is my thirteenth year of teaching and my first year as the librarian. I have previously taught second grade and kindergarten here at Oakview.  I am so excited to make the transition into the library! I have lots of amazing ideas and plans for the library!
