As I begin my fourth and final year as library media specialist, I still miss the ELA classroom! But I have to admit, the library is the best of both worlds! I take my job as LMS very seriously, in that it is my responsibility to work with students to discover just the right genre, author, plot, that will set them on the course for becoming a life-long reader and learner. Additionally, it is my job to assist both students and teachers in developing the information acquisition skills that are needed in today's society. I look forward to seeing all 750 students in our library each week as well as before and after school for book check-outs, studying, computer use, and just general reading when we get back to school in person.
However, library during the time of Covid is going to look a little different for a while! I've been working on creating a paperless library composed of ebooks that can be downloaded to any device. Additionally, I'll be providing a request system with curbside pickup. So be on the lookout for the library classrooms as well as watch for me in your ELA classrooms with all the information you'll need to find just the right book for you!!!
In my spare time, I, of course, enjoy reading YA books as well as non-fiction. Some of my favorite authors include John Greene, Sarah Dessen, John Grisham, Elin Hilterbrand, and anything by James Patterson. I enjoy spending time with my family, camping, and I am an avid scrapbooker. And of course, my main hobby is my three beautiful grandchildren: Delaney, Drew, and Charlie.
