The Dewey Decimal System

In our library, we classify books using the Dewey Decimal System. We have a non-fiction section, a fiction section, a biography section, a Kentucky collection, and a reference section. Our books are shelved by the author's last name, which are the first three letters printed on the spine of a book under its classification. So a book by J.K. Rowling would have a spine that says "Fic Row." When you look for a non-fiction book, you will find a series of numbers and letters on the spine. The numbers represent where it falls in the Dewey Decimal System, and the letters represent the author's last name. Use this general chart to find the location of a non-fiction book by subject!
