MISSION STATEMENT
The library media program of Paul G. Blazer High School strives to develop in students and faculty skills for acquiring, utilizing, organizing, evaluating and disseminating information in a positive, nurturing environment with individualized learning opportunities. Ultimately, we strive to make students efficient, effective and independent information users.
INSTRUCTION
The media specialist, in collaboration with classroom teachers, provides lessons in information access, research, retrieval and analyses. Students receive instruction in researching,analyzing and citing electronic and print resources properly. The library media specialist facilitates information evaluation and analyses of resources and research materials for students.
RESOURCES
The Blazer Media Center houses over 20,000 items which include books, magazines, newspapers, online databases, reference materials, videotapes and discs and audio books. The Media Center's collection is designed to support Blazer's curricular and instructional requirements. The collection is particularly strong in literature, history and controversial/social issues.
HOURS
MONDAY - FRIDAY 7:30 AM TO 4:00 PM
STAFF
Blazer Media Center is managed by Deidra Bowling-Meade, Library Media Specialist, who also provides instruction in information literacy. Mrs. Sandra Bowling is the Library Media Technician. She processes all library materials and oversees the "stacks" (library shelving).
