Attendance Tips

It is the responsibility of parents to help their children get to school on time every day.  The vast majority of parents are superb at doing just that.  However, there are many who struggle with habitual lateness.  Here are a couple of suggestions to help you avoid the traffic jams at many of the schools just prior to the tardy bell.

Ø   Check how long the trip takes if you drive your child to school.  Allow extra time for unexpected conditions including traffic and weather.

Ø   Get up fifteen minutes earlier than you think necessary.

Ø   Help your child pick out all clothing the night before, including shoes and accessories.

Ø   Save time in the mornings by making sure all items your child needs are placed in their backpack the night before including lunch money, books, homework, and supplies.

Ø   Know what time you must leave every day to be on time. ???????

Encourage your child to ride the school bus and you will not have to worry about school traffic.

Remember, when your child has to miss school, make sure he/she has a doctor note or a parent note to turn in the next day.   Students are allowed 5 school days to turn in notes.

Students are allowed to use 5 parent notes each school year and a maximum of 10 doctor notes.
