Yearbook Staff

Journalism/Yearbook Production

From the Paul G. Blazer High School 2022-2023 Course Catalog:

Students will learn the fundamentals of photographic composition, the basics of journalistic writing, and develop strong editing practices. Students will participate as members of production teams that will design, illustrate, write, and edit the yearbook. Most grades are performance based. Please note that yearbook staffers may be asked to spend extra time outside of school hours to complete coverage assignments and meet deadlines set by the publisher. Upcoming 9th graders must have at least a B average in their previous English class to be part of the yearbook staff. 10-12th grade students who have not previously worked in Yearbook Production must complete a Yearbook Staff Application to join the class.

On the serious side, yearbook staffers learn real world skills like problem solving and time management. On the fun side, staffers socialize, eat cookies and pizza, and laugh — a lot. We value those who have an interest in writing, design, artwork, photography, sales, computers, interviewing, and more. If there is anything you don't feel confident doing, you'll always have the support of your fellow staffers to help.

Classroom expectations and procedures will be published in August.
