Inclement Weather and Other Emergencies
Decisions concerning school closings, delays, and school bus operations relative to inclement and/or hazardous weather conditions or any emergency will be made at the earliest possible time in order to ensure the safety and convenience of our students, families and staff.
If inclement weather occurs during the school day, children will be send home at a time that will allow for roads to be made safe prior to dismissal. School cancellations will also be posted to this web page.

Bus System Facts
Ashland Independent School District employs 19 drivers, 7 monitors, 1 transportation supervisor and 2 mechanics. The system runs 19 buses per day which cover 19 individual routes that transport 1,000+ students daily.
All drivers must qualify for the Commercial Drivers License (CDL), and also have annual physicals, skin tests, drug tests, and criminal records checks. Intense state-mandated training is an on-going process. A Board-adopted Transportation Manual delineates all aspects of this major operation.
