The Ashland Independent Board of Education is proposing a fiscal year 2026-2027 General Fund tax levy of 73.7 cents on real property and 73.7 cents on personal property (same as prior year).
The General Fund tax levied in the prior fiscal year (2025-2026) was 73.7 cents on real property and 73.7 cents on personal property and produced revenue of $7,730,007. The new year proposed General Fund tax rate levy of 73.7 cents on real property and 73.7 cents on personal property is expected to produce $8,063,150 at the prior year’s rate of collection. Of this amount, $1,093,093 is from personal property. With a valuation of $0, there will be no revenue generated from new property. The compensating tax rate for 2027 is 70.7 cents on real property and 73.7 on personal property and is expected to produce $8,469,696 if collected in full (100%).
The 2027 proposed rate is expected to generate more revenue than received in the preceding year. General areas to which the additional revenue of $333,143 will be allocated are as follows: cost of collections $6,663 and instruction $326,480.
